I used to visit this restaurant often, but I'm disappointed to say that the service has significantly declined.
I recently visited this place and found the food to be delicious, with a wide variety of options. The pub itself is cozy and well-kept, exactly what you would expect from a pub.
This was once my go-to spot for business lunches, but the overall experience has declined recently because of unfriendly staff and a shortage of employees.
This restaurant serves the best Chinese food in town, hands down. The value for money is excellent and the quality of the food is fantastic.
The Windhover in Chapel Brampton offers a mixed dining experience with charming ambiance and dog-friendly amenities. While many patrons rave about the quality of the food, especially the festive offerings and vegetarian dishes, service inconsistency prevails. Guests have noted long waits for attention, incorrect bills, and unresponsive staff, often undermining their overall enjoyment. Despite these service hiccups, the atmosphere is welcoming, with many appreciating the attentiveness of a few standout staff members. Unfortunately, the restaurant's reliance on booking apps has led to confusion and disappointment for some. Many diners hope for improved service on future visits.

We had our work Xmas meal here, food was great and service very good too, especially as we were a big table of 15. Would recommend.
We arrived to sell at the Christmas Fair, staff stood by the bar watching and laughing at people struggling to get through the door with there stock. Ordered Latte Hot chocolate, no complimentary biscuits. Stayed for lunch after. Starters and meal, was amazing and very quick. 30 mins after finishing meal, plates still on table and no staff to be seen. I had to go to the bar to find a member of staff to ask for the desert menu. So food was great. But staff weren’t. Won’t be eating there again.
The service at this restaurant was incredibly slow. We arrived at 7:30 and didn't leave until close to 11 o'clock. The waitress was slow at taking our orders and struggled to multitask without prompting. The bill was incorrect and the waitress had trouble understanding why. We had to work it out ourselves and eventually got it sorted, but not without a lot of back and forth. Additionally, they were advertising a festive menu at one price but charged us a higher price. Despite the lovely food, the poor service really let the pub down. It's a shame, as this is one of our local pubs, but we would hesitate to go back again.
We booked breakfast, greeted by a lovely open fire burning away which really set of the mood, excellent service throughout by rebecca Megan If you want good food a nice cosy atmosphere this is the place to be. You can clearly tell the pub is managed really well credit where it’s due. Nathan Emma

Came across this pub after a walk round Brixworth Country Park. Very nice pub too. We sat in the garden with our dog. Dogs are also allowed in the bar area of the pub. Food was really good. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Would recommend.
Had meal there a few days ago and enjoyed. Today, No food being served unless you book on app. Tried on app and it says fully booked. Really? I think they were short staffed and used app to close out to food. Literally the place was empty. Disappointed. Next time just say short staffed
The last time I visited here was for lunch before the latest refurb, so decided to visit again for an evening meal. We booked a table for 8pm on Saturday evening. On arrival it was busy at the bar and had to wait a while for someone to arrive to seat us at a table. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and had a choice of tables to sit at. We ordered drinks and the waitress was very pleasant, professional with a warm smile. We ordered one pate and a side bread to share between the three of us. It was plenty albeit the pate portion was on the small side. For mains two of us ordered the Forestiére Chicken Breast, stuffed with spinach mozzarella, wrapped in pancetta with a wild mushroom sauce served with spinach and fries. I oredered the Slow-cooked Pork Belly, with chive mash, green beans, apple sorbet, crackling and a red wine jus. The meals were delicious, hot, fresh tasting and just the correct portion sizes. For desserts we ordered a Vanilla Orange Crème Brûleé, served with home-baked shortbread biscuits. A Baked Orchard Tart with apples, blackberries and rhubarb baked in sweet pastry and vanilla sponge served with blackcurrant curd and custard. A latte just for myself. All desserts again were lovely and all finished. The meal came to just over £100, including 4 glasses of wine and a pint of shandy. No sneaky service charge which was a nice omission. Overall we enjoyed the evening in a really nicely decorated venue and friendly staff. It was really quiet for a Saturday evening but that could be due to the cost of living crisis starting to bite. We will be back!
My daughter and I had brunch here yesterday. I'm a fussy eater, however it was the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever tasted. Beetroot hash was lovely, we will definitely be back, Thankyou

We made a reservation here for Valentine's Day, and despite the restaurant being crowded, we had a lovely meal and received excellent service. Thank you very much!
I made a reservation through the Open Table app, which was confirmed, but when I arrived at The Windhover, they were unaware of it. Fortunately, I was able to secure a table in the bar area.
The desserts, however, were in a league of their own. We all opted for the mini puddings, but they seemed to be regular size. The Eton Mess was delightful, the brownie with ice cream was very good, and the crumble was crispy and fruity, paired with wonderful custard. The espresso coffees were a bit bitter, but they were served piping hot. I would suggest offering a small liqueur with these mini puddings, as we’ve enjoyed that combination in France, and it’s a great way to round off a meal. I was a bit disappointed to see that The Windhover has turned into a chain restaurant, somewhat like a more upscale Harvester. The menu a few years back was far more unique. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch, but I'm not sure I’ll be in a hurry to return.
