Friendly staff and got the 2-5pm deal fish and chips for 2 plus a drink just over £17 .. what’s not to like ???

Seemed to be a lack of charging points, lik... read more After cycling the Tarka Trail from Meeth, this stop off was much need for a couple of refreshing pints to cool down. Seemed to be a lack of charging points, like most Wetherspoons have, but found a table near the bar and all was good. Was quite busy when I arrived and I heard a waitress say there was a 30 minute wait for food.

The staff seemed very busy at one point, but for a Wetherspoons, the food was served piping hot and the burger was probably the best I've ever had from there. The bun was hot and buttery, and everything seemed fresh. This was a rare experience at a Wetherspoons, even the vegetables in the burger were crisp! Much better than the nearby restaurant Panniers.

The food was good quality and hot! Will definitely be making this a regular spot. I will give a shout out to the young lady (think she’s a manager) that’s on most weekday mornings and the tall gent. They are always smiling and it’s good to see staff having a laugh and working with a smile at that time of morning. Clearly enjoy their jobs!
