What User doesn't like about May Cottage Tea Rooms:
I don't like eating a cream tea where dogs are allowed on the table. my food is for me to enjoy and not for dogs near us. If they want to take their dogs to eat places, then it should. outside places for them with their owners. the creamtee was quite expensive for what they get. I guess this is a tourist area, but the locals are not paid the prices of the tourist from the more prosperous areas. it would be very nice... View all feedback. Lovely little tearoom. Stopped here on the basis of glowing reviews left by previous customers and they weren’t wrong. Nice coffee and cake but best thing of all gluten free cream tea which made my wife very happy! So difficult to find good quality...GF cakes these days so well done to everyone for coming up with the goods! We’ll be back before our holiday ends in a few days…! View all feedback.

Many patrons praise the friendly service and delightful homemade cakes, particularly highlighting the gluten-free options and traditional cream teas served with clotted cream and jam. However, some visitors express disappointment with the limited sandwich choices and portion sizes, suggesting that enhancements are needed to meet the expectations of returning customers. Despite these critiques, the cafe is recommended for its excellent coffee and a cozy environment, making it a must-visit destination for tea lovers in North Devon.
