Despite there being only three other tables occupied and several staff members, it took an h... read more Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. Despite there being only three other tables occupied and several staff members, it took an hour from the time we sat down at 4:45 to receive our food. The wait between ordering drinks and food was about 30 minutes. Initially, we were told that a topping for my burger was not available and would be substituted, but then we were informed that there were no frickles either. It was frustrating to hear that they had run out of these items when they have access to suppliers and supermarkets nearby. When our burgers finally arrived, my plate was excessively greasy with fingerprints all over it. The burgers were dry and overcooked, to the point where even the kids couldn't eat their cheeseburgers as they were too tough. However, our dogs seemed to enjoy them when we brought them home. It is a real shame, as we were hoping to discover a great burger restaurant in North Devon. I mentioned my disappointment to the waitress as we left, and she agreed that the wait was unacceptable. Despite the issues with the food, the staff were friendly. It seems that a high volume of deliveries from services like Deliveroo and Uber Eats may have been keeping them occupied.
