The scones were large and delicious, topped with generous... read more We were fortunate to win a cream tea for two at the Waterside Cafe, and it was absolutely delightful. The scones were large and delicious, topped with generous amounts of cream and jam (cream first, as tradition dictates in Devon). We also enjoyed a pot of tea served with a cozy. While we only had the cream tea, we did take a quick look at the lunch menu, which mainly featured fish dishes, fitting for a trout fishery. The prices seemed very reasonable. The cafe is situated by one of the trout ponds, offering a beautiful setting. We enjoyed our food outside on a lovely late summer day, watching the fish jump in the pond. We also purchased some smoked trout fillets from the shop, which were delicious, though the pate was unfortunately sold out. We plan on returning soon and highly recommend this cafe.
