Run by a family, it has everything you could ask for - outstanding customer service, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere. Not dining here while in Ilfracombe would be a huge miss. Absolutely incredible!

This place is unique in ilfracombe! on Sunday in October we were looking for a modern, cozy and child-friendly restaurant. we landed at blacksands. what a wonde... read more This place is unique in ilfracombe! on Sunday in October we were looking for a modern, cozy and child-friendly restaurant. we landed at blacksands. what a wonderful restaurant with a very friendly and cozy ambiente! many thanks to our waitress who was very nice to us and our little girl. she made us very welcome as a foreign visitor. the food was delicious, we never had a Sunday roast, but it was very good! also the children enjoyed the meal. they don't have a child menu, but there were enough food to share from the net, and they could also make a smaller part for children if they want. there is a wrap table on the toilets for babies. the food was delicious, but the fact that we felt very welcome, made it a perfect dinner!

The first night I had the Stilton quich with a digestive base (yes not the norm) but it was amazing a must have, the flavors where amazing. The second time I went had the burger and I have had a lot of burgers in my lift time and I can honestly say it has been the best. It's a very cosy and warm relaxed environment which is great. I would book if you want a table as it is a small establishment, it is well worth it. The staff were very attentive and the Chillie shot was very warming. It's in my top ten restaurants to visit and go back to.

And the food was amazing! Not many places I feel so relaxed and yet the food quality, flavour and presentation is second to none. Only 2 people serving on the day, but never had to wait to be served.
