However we had lunch a Mirazur in Menton, listed as the 4th best restaurant in the world, and the Chef recommended Flaveur. We were not disappointed. I had the 4 course menu and my wife and her cousin had the 3 course menu. We also had a magnificent rose champagne that was very syrupy, fruity and a dark rose color. Te service was very friendly and good. Definitely deserved its star. BTW, I didn't like the decor in person either but the food and service more than made up for the decor.

My wife and I had the 4 course set menu with wine pairing and enjoyed every morsel and sip. Many of the other reviews seem to mention the length of their meals...in that regard it is a somewhat languid affair. Our meal took 3 hours. But go with it. Our recommendation would be to check one's faster paced pretenses at the door, relax, enjoy the truly caring, attentive service and simply submit to the world-class cooking. You will not regret the experience.

We tried the 3-course menu (75 eur per person) and received numerous amuse-bouches which were very creative. The food was served with fresh delicious buns and salted butter which was to die for. A total highlight for me personally! Service was very friendly and professional, both waiters spoke very good English. A minor minus for us was the inconsistent waiting time between meals. Also, while the buns were very tasty, the breads that were offered later did not meet our expectations because they were not that soft and did not seem very fresh.

It cost 550 Euros Christmas gift from our son! but was amazing. On a small side street Gubernatis but it was a safe area! They have been there for 14 years. Photos explain it all.
