Paula and her team truly know their stuff, especially when it comes to shoes. My daughter's feet grew so quickly over the summer, and we found ourselves in urgent need of lace shoes on a Sunday night in July, just before her ballet camp the next day. What User doesn't like about International Dancesport Studios:
My rating would have been zero stars if it weren't for Paula's expertise with pointe shoes. Unfortunately, I had the worst experience there! She was incredibly dismissive, careless, and rude. I deeply regret going in the first place. Not only will I never return, but I will also advise all my friends to steer clear of this place. We visited the store looking for some dance shoes, but the woman who assisted us on the upper floor wasn't very friendly. While I understand there aren't many places to buy dance gear in the city, it might be worth driving a bit farther for better service and a smile.

Paula was incredibly accommodating, giving us her full attention despite the fact that they were supposed to close half an hour earlier. They also have a great understanding of the local schools and their specific requirements. If you forget or can't find the email outlining everything, they know what types of tights and shoes each school prefers. This expertise is invaluable, especially for parents navigating ballet gear for the first time.
I highly recommend this store for any and all dancers needs. I have been going to Dancer's Image for a number of years for my daughter's dance apparel and footwear. Paula and her staff have been very helpful and kind. They always have what we need and take time to help assure the proper fit.
When walking into this store we were pounced on by 2 young ladies. Total turn off. We were looking for pointe shoes, and had an appt for a fitting. We were sent downstairs to the owner, who was sitting in her chair waiting for us. Rude, condescending can't even accurately describe this woman. She will push the most expensive shoe on you, even if your daughter isn't happy with it. Truth be told, this woman has the exclusive rights to sell Suffolk shoes in the area. If she doesn't sell enough, she loses that exclusivity. Hence why she tells you, you should be 2 pair. After an hour of listening her berate my daughter's shoes and the person who fitted her prior (we only didn't go to our original place bc they were on vacation, and we needed shoes for an intensive), we walked out with nothing. I will never go back, and this place will never get my money. There are other fish in the sea.... I'll fish elsewhere.
