Description

Sunday River is a vast, well-groomed resort with terrain for all levels, recent lift upgrades, on-mountain dining and strong lodging, spa and golf offerings. Visitors praise efficient lifts, minimal lines and resort amenities like heated pools and free bag check. However, recurring issues include spotty customer service, clumsy online ticketing, inconsistent lesson experiences and troubling accessibility failures — even reports of rude or discriminatory staff. The mountain experience is excellent, but service and accessibility improvements are urgently needed.

We enjoy visiting Sunday because it's just an hour and a half from Portland. The mountain offers plenty of skiing opportunities for anyone looking to have a great time! Plus, there are waffles available along the trail when you're feeling hungry.

When I calmly explained that I had already paid for the full four days, Al asked me where my group and I were from. After telling him we were from Florida, he told us to "go back to where we came from" and that we shouldn't return. I was taken aback by his aggressive and disrespectful behavior, and it made me feel unsafe, as did his companion. They even used slurs as we left. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I was shocked by Al's blatant racism and lack of professionalism. I recommend you avoid this place, and if you do decide to go, make sure to keep your receipt!

Sunday River is my favorite ski resort. The mountain is vast and offers a range of terrains, catering to both those seeking a challenge and those who prefer to cruise or are still learning. Recently, the resort has been undergoing some exciting updates. At Jordan, they've installed New England's fastest 8-person chair lift, complete with heated seats and a protective shield. For the 2023-2024 season, they plan to add a 6-person chair lift at Barker with similar amenities. Additionally, there are plans for further expansion of the mountain, including more lodging, chairlifts, and trails in the near future. This commitment to improvement ensures that Sunday River remains an excellent destination. Each time I visit, the trails are consistently well-groomed, and there are usually minimal lines. When the lines do get longer, they move quickly, thanks to the efficient organization of the staff at the lifts. Overall, Sunday River is a fantastic resort for skiers and snowboarders alike. Plus, there’s a variety of restaurants along the resort strip that you can enjoy. I'm excited to see how it continues to grow!

First time staying here. Friendly staff and the restaurant on site called Camp was really nice.

This review is for the golf course, Jordan Spa, and Grand Summit Hotel: My wife and I were here on vacation about a week ago. We booked a stay at Grand Summit which was amazing. I booked her a prenatal massage with the Jordan Spa and they treated her as if she was royalty. I can only imagine how busy the place is during ski season, but I was so surprised that it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. My wife was the only person at the spa and had the outdoor heated pool all to herself while I was out playing golf. I got paired up with a random that was really cool and we both played pretty fast. I played from the blue tees and shot my second career round of even par with 6 birdies, so it's very safe to say that I really loved everything about the course! Can't beat the on-course views either!
