Grand Summit - Newry
Grand Summit
Description
Perched at high elevation near hiking, biking and gondola rides, this conference-friendly hotel blends warm, helpful staff and spotless housekeeping with a heated pool, hot tub and on-site dining at reasonable prices. Spacious rooms and organized activities make it convenient for groups and families seeking outdoor fun. However, many rooms feel dated (some use murphy beds), bathroom ventilation is lacking, restaurant/bar service can be slow with odd hours, and Wi-Fi reliability fluctuates. Best for visitors after rustic charm and outdoor access rather than modern luxury.

We had a truly weird room, which was not only dated, but had a murphy bed, a desk, a dining room table, and a coffee table. Bathroom had no fan. The fire alarm went off in the night, and no discount was extended to those of us who were inconvenienced. It was pricey, we were there for a conference, so was very convenient. The food in the restaurant takes a really, really long time, and the bar service in general is slow. Restaurant and bar have weird hours, in general. Wifi was great and in general we had a good time. Staff was kind and helpful.
If you want a hot shower in this place, you need to wait 5-10 minutes for the water to heat up if you are on the end of a wing.Rooms: 2/5
The service and food are acceptable, but the entire establishment feels extremely old and in disrepair. It wasn't a pleasant experience, particularly due to the state of the room. Rating: 1/5.
Not “Grand”. Old hotel. You can hear your neighbors walking, showering and flush their toilets. Walls are paper thin. NOT LUXURY.Rooms: 1/5
