What Peter Steinberg likes about Numero 28 Pizzeria Napoletana 1st Ave.:
Every once in awhile you find a little gem. This is one of them. They serve authentic pastas as you would have in Florence and Milan. Cooked al dente, as it should be, with unique sauces. They are a treat. I did not have pizza which was doing a brisk business. If you are not full, try the mini cannolis. You do not have that perfect filling in 99% of Italian restaurants in NYC. Friendly knowledgeable staff. You will n... View all feedback. What Erika B doesn't like about Numero 28 Pizzeria Napoletana 1st Ave.:
If they’re a premium pizza company, I’m not sure why they cut all of the slices unevenly.. and incompletely.. also I asked for extra sauce and they wound up being rather light in sauce : This was an order placed at 2pm on a monday, so they definitely weren’t just busy I ordered margherita. the pizza was ok! a bit too doughy for my taste, better off going to famous ben’s or lombardi’s for fresh sauce, crispy crust, an... Cute Italian place that is dark even in mid day! The menu has Italian dishes and pasta but the specialty here is really the pizza.
Ordered pesto pasta with pine nuts on top all inside a very crispy and tasty Parmesan cheese basket (bowl), see attached photo.
Whoa. Yellowtail tasted way too "fishy" and the so-called pastrami shortribs were greasy pastrami. Both were $ 30. Robbery. We gave our feedback to the bartende...

read moreThis restaurant offers excellent service and food in a cozy setting with an interesting selection of sophisticated dishes. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, making it a gem worth visiting. However, some customers experienced issues such as delayed orders, subpar salad, and loud music. On the other hand, others had a great experience with delicious food, accommodating service, and unique menu items. Overall, if you're a pizza lover, this place is a must-visit for glorious pizza.

Some of the best pizza in the area. Seriously good stuff
Terrible pizza. Hardly had any toppings. Messed up topping selections between two pizzas
