What Gary William Christopher Hugo Hancock King likes about New Kam Lai Chinese Rest:
Dependably consistent, spicy, and multilayered flavors of several Chinese regions, this warm and friendly (and highly affordable- a scarce thing in Manhattan for the last five years) takeout joint is fast, clean, welcoming, and courteous...as long as you are as well. Just be ready to order- I don't suggest a shopping list of exclusions or specific instructions- when called. They are no-nonsense and BUSY. In Manhattan... View all feedback. What User doesn't like about New Kam Lai Chinese Rest:
The food is good and what you would expect from a New York Chinese delivery. Cheap, fast and reliable. However, the delivery drivers used by the restaurant consistently are the worst. read moreNew Kam Lai offers affordable, fast, and reliable New York Chinese delivery with good food, albeit with a slightly greasy texture. The menu features multilayered flavors and generous portions suitable for two meals. While some dishes like the fried chicken wings with fried rice shine, others fall short, such as the overly chewy crab Rangoon. However, issues arise with delivery drivers who have been reported as rude and demanding additional tips in cash. Despite this, the restaurant is warm, clean, and welcoming, offering a dependable option for those seeking no-nonsense, spicy Chinese cuisine in Manhattan.
