Menu
On this webpage, you will find the complete menu of Plume Algiers from New Orleans. Currently, there are 71 dishes and drinks available.
An intriguing neighborhood Indian spot offering scratch-made, vibrant dishes—Banana Chaat, Appam and Kerala fried chicken earn praise—while service is often warm and the cozy room feels like a hidden gem. Experiences vary: some plates are outstanding and affordable, others arrive overly oily or unevenly presented. Limited parking and unpredictable hours frustrate locals, and a shared fryer creates serious peanut-allergy risks. Good for adventurous and vegetarian diners, but exercise caution if you need consistent execution or allergy-safe cooking.

What Priya Patel dislikes about Plume Algiers:
I'm not sure why this restaurant has such high ratings. Despite the cute atmosphere, the food was not good. I ordered the shrimp Kati roll, saag paneer, Naan, and the Caipirinha. All of the dishes were excessively oily. The Naan had a pool of oil on it when it was served. The presentation was lacking. The drink tasted very sour, like sucking on a lemon. The Kati roll had an overwhelming amount of dill and cilantro. A... View all feedback.
Although I don't usually eat Indian food, I recently had a truly exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. The food was not your typical Indian fare - it was more refined and elegant. I couldn't decide on a dish, so I let the chef surprise me with their flavorful creations. I enjoyed a banana appetizer, a spicy salad that paired well with the pork and shrimp dishes, and a delicious mango-based cream soup. Overall, the food was amazing and definitely worth a trip across the river. And, to top it off, the staff were friendly and welcoming.
OMG. I had the BEST birthday lunch here! The fried fish was probably the best fried fish I’ve ever had in my life! We also had the banana chaat and the chicken wrap which were to die for. They are also so accommodating. We brought our toddler with us and even provided a sippy cup. Gotta love family friendly restaurants, especially those with amazing chef and staff. We are coming back the next time we’re in NOLA for sure!

Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night, but based on my experience, I would not recommend this place.
I’ve never reviewed a restaurant before, but I feel like I need to give folks with peanut allergies a heads up. After indicating that I had a peanut allergy on my reservation ahead of time and telling the server when we were seated, we placed our order. It was only after the order was placed that the server returned to ask me if it would be a problem that the kitchen fried peanuts in the same fryer they use for all fried items on the menu. Once I indicated that this would absolutely be a problem, the server pointed out all the fried items on the menu- it was at least half of the food available, and most, if not all, of the big ticket items. It was extremely disappointing. I’ve never been to a restaurant that would put such a common allergen in a vessel that cooks a large portion of the food, especially when it’s avoidable. It felt like no consideration was given to customers with an extremely common food allergy. What little I was able to try was delicious, but not worth being excluded from a huge chunk of the dining experience. Maybe this isn’t a space for people with peanut allergies, but a heads up would have been helpful! edited to add that the energy of the response below is precisely why I left my first ever review of a restaurant. Had I been met with kindness I would have chalked it up to bad luck. Humility, accountability and hospitality are distinctly lacking here (check out their responses to any feedback) Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100
