The taste and uniqueness of the dishes was amazing! We came back twice over the weekend. I love that you can choose from such a variety of options and let me tell you, two of us share a sign and were so full! It's a really great option to go and have a vegan picnic (there's some casual seating too). My favorite item was the orange chickpea flower (not pictured). What DoIt Jack doesn't like about Sweet Soulfood:
Maybe because I 'm from Atlanta and I 'm used to the places that I go to there, that this food was not hitting for me nor my lady. I read the name of the business and didn 't realize that they are dead serious when they say 'sweet soulfood ' because everything tasted like sugar. The macaroni and cheese was sweet, the sweet potatoes was super sweet, the cauliflower was sweet, the red beans and rice had hard beans. I w... View all feedback.
Amazingly good vegan food here. Had the orange cauliflower shepherd cake and veggie fried rice. Others had Jambalaya and Mac N Cheese. Everything was really delicious and well seasoned. A one-part main dish would have been a lot (I have two) food is served cafeteria style to go dishes that are well sealed to take home. Casual Ess and friendly service. Also very clean. Close up at 5 so early. Next time I get to eat at home. No alcohol served if that's a problem.
I wish I lived here for this place. I would definitely be a normal!! The taste, portions and price can simply not beat!! And the staff was so sweet. I am gluten-free, and my favorites were mushrooms and gravy, collar and potato salad. My sister loved Jambalaya, Okra Gumbo and Cornbread. And you have to get the sweet potatoes and an ice cream while you are?
Just incredible!! Very delicious soul food and 100% vegan. The atmosphere was so inviting. We loved fried cauliflower and Cashew Mac and cheese. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back.
Just because we 're vegan means 't that we don't love eating, and NOLA is known for food that really meets the place! Sweet Soulfood is delicious and so satisfying! Great portions and fast service friendly too! I love them changing their menu every day, so you always guaranteed something else. We went on a Thursday and had their Cashew Mac 'n' cheese, orange cauliflower (fried and super crispy! , Stuffed Bell Peppers, Sweet Potato Casserole, Jambalaya, Okra Gumbo and Corn Bread. #PlantBasedSoulFood #VeganForAllLife??????
This place is amazing! I was scared that being vegan would cause me to miss out on all the amazing NOLA flavours. The best item on the menu is definitely the fried cauliflower, a must-try! A very cozy place with complex flavours and low prices.
