The restaurant's reservation system is lacking and does not accommodate requests for indoor or outdoor seating flexibility. Once you make a reservation, you are locked into your choice of seating and cannot change it.
Ventuno was a pleasant dining experience, although it did not become my top choice for restaurants in Nantucket. Many people had recommended the fried stuffed olives, so we decided to give them a try. They were indeed delicious, but at $5.00 for 5 small olives, they seemed a bit pricey. The polpette starter was tasty, but also on the expensive side. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak, while I savored the braised lamb pasta. My duck was perfectly cooked and the portion size was generous. Overall, we would consider returning to try other items on the menu.
I typically enjoy dining at Ventuno, but this time it fell short of my expectations. First, the service was not up to par. The young women they employ are friendly, but there were extended periods when I couldn't get anyone's attention, despite my efforts. Additionally, they forgot to bring a soft drink for our daughter until much later in the meal when I had to remind them. Secondly, while the restaurant is great for Italian cuisine, I would prefer to see more pasta and other lighter options on the menu, rather than so much beef.
A culinary rollercoaster with hits and misses, where flavors danced, prices shocked (to be expected I guess), and service left us scratching our heads....
After reading all mixed reviews here, we didn't know what to expect! We were pleasantly surprised to find delicious food and incredible service. Our waitress was very attentive and the staff often refilled my waterglass. The food was so delicious we have to start the meatballs and Arancini (both great). For Entrees we have the bucatini carbonara (great) and Trenette (crab, flounder, shrimp) this was simply okay. We also got the chicken, which was very juicy and delicious. Would definitely recommend eating here, despite some of the reviews mention terrible service food!
