Town restaurant on Nantucket offers a delicious, albeit expensive dining experience. The atmosphere is lovely, with great appetizers like pork buns and kale Caesar salad, followed by excellent main courses such as steak frites and pasta bolognese. One group even made a reservation to return the following week. On the other hand, Virgils disappointed with their Texas BBQ brisket, though the Memphis BBQ ribs were a hit. The service at Town ranged from fantastic to lackluster, with some diners experiencing slow service and loud music. However, the food was consistently praised, with highlights including sushi and cod fritters. Overall, Town provides a great night out in downtown Nantucket, while Virgils offers a fun atmosphere and friendly service, despite the occasional food misstep.
Nice setting. Grossly over-sauced food from start to finish. Server attentive but far too intense. Shame, because this place has potential.

We were here on our wedding night and asked for the corner table, and was refused because we had 4 people and needed 5. Place was almost empty, besides 4 very loud drinkers at the bar, and nobody used the corner table all night. This was our favorite place on Nantucket, but never again!
Excellent food with plenty of options. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Peter was an absolute pleasure to have as a server this evening. He was courteous and excited about his work at Town. It has always been my favorite place on island, and I am pleased to say it was the best experience I’ve had to far.
