This was my first time at 29 Fair. It was very small, quiet, warm, and cozy perfect for a small party of couple. I had the surf and turf and it was amazing! Steak with a peppercorn sauce, lobster tail, and potatoes with veggies. There is no liquor here but the wine and beer list was good. What Ward Hayes doesn't like about 29 Fair:
Highly disappointing. I booked a reservation at 29 Fair on Open table for a Monday night in July and had my reservation confirmed. Only to find out when I arrived at the restaurant that THEY WERE CLOSED. I then proceeded to call and a representative from the restaurant group answered and said yes they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Then why are you accepting reservations on those days???? I was in this restaurant several times and everything is just delicious. Last night, dinner was excellent and the boss and staff were warm and welcoming. Yes, it is pricy, but one of the few places on the island where you earn your money.
Amazingly delicious dinner from Chef Nimesh! All courses were clean well balanced and full of taste. Hands down one of the best meals I've ever eaten!
Very strange experience. They were here once and it was fabulous, but this last time was very unpleasant. We waited for more than 10 minutes before an employee approached us, despite a reservation and waiter constantly to go through the room. After all, there were so many people waiting to let the host come up and, if she looked rather confused and flogged, tried to sit while two tables went out of people and warned us not to stay because they had waited for food for over an hour. We sat hesitantly and looked up dunes to serve themselves water and fetch utensils, so that after 15 minutes sit without someone approaching us, we just stood up and went. A disappointing experience as a whole.
It seemed a very creepy night for what we heard from this place. I don't know if the restaurant was extremely short staff or if something else had gone, but we waited 30 min to get a bottle of wine, one of the girls at the table was constantly piled by the staff, several employees were rude/unapologetic.
The fresh fish (salmon) and salads were extremely good and cooked for perfection! The ambience is charming, warm and picturesque. The problem was with the servers and very bad administration. We were quite shocked because of the lack of organization and attention not only our table experienced by two, but also others around us. The right hand did not seem to know what the left hand did. For example, our server has not informed us any dinner specials, but then couples were next to us. When she asked, she said, “The cook did not tell her about any specials.” The table between us and another pair was broken off and removed – only then to be returned a few minutes later, which was a little interruption. The staff seemed unhappy and strange, so it was sometimes very unpleasant. Overall, the food is great, but the management/worker needs a lot of improvement.
