Very cozy ambience with friendly staff. Food was excellent. We ordered the north Indian thali, special thali and aalo parathas. Felt like we were having home cooked food. Perfect spice level and the right amount of masala. They made sure we didn't order too much that food would go waste. Why waste food when you can avoid it? :) Appreciate that thought of theirs. What Prerna Nanda doesn't like about The 6th Main:
This place is proof of how a very small and simple area can be put to good use. And he looks good too.
A good place for evening tea. The seating arrangement on the veranda is nice ????
Not a very good place for dinner. Food is okay. We weren't served that fresh food. What you order from the menu can change when it reaches your table. We had ordered Butter Nun and Kulcha. Only nun came in two different sizes. When... View all feedback.
This is one of the best restaurants I met during my travel in india. the personal is aware that their nutritional needs are met. no reiskorn was left after I disappeared my eating. clean ambiente with a visual homage to the usa musicians and singers. this restaurant is also visited by local and traveling visitors. a nice selection of menus and vegetarian meals are freshly prepared. meal times can be prepared without twill and garlic. the chefs are masterful to keep the aromen rich and scurril to the end. Do not miss this quiet and cozy restaurant when they are in mysore.
Everything you need. nothing special. probably a good value for money. a few vegan options available. update: after visiting this restaurant I had my first vegan skin problems in india. therefore I have reduced my rating from inital 3 stars to 2.
This place is an evidence how a very small and simple area can be used well. And make it look good too. A good place for evening tea.The seating arrangement in the verandah is nice???? Not a very good place for dinner.Food is okay. We have been served not so fresh food. What you order from the menu might change by the time it reaches your table. we had ordered butter nun and kulcha. Only nun came in two different size. When we enquired about kulcha we were told that nun and kulcha differ only in size and in no other way???? And they were very confident about it???? Later for dessert also they had done similar outrageous claims !! Things have their definition after all...but they sure do not want to follow rules!!

I have been in Mysore for an Year now and I can't believe that I haven't tried this place sooner. But since last month, I have been here multiple times. The 6th Main is small, happening, pure vegetarian North Indian restaurant and Coffee cafe on 6th Main (like the name suggests) Jayalakshmipuram/Gokulam off temple Street. The place is buzzing most of times and get really busy in the weekends. It's a small well lit place with decent seating inside and outside with ample parking. On a busy weekend night one can find all kinds of people here having a go at their taste buds. The soups are pretty good (not a huge fan) but the North Indian is brilliant. It's got that Punjabi tinge to it. The breads are like brilliant, and probably makes the best Roti in town: Kadak Dhaba style. I like the fact that they don't just serve a variety of Dal and Paneer curries but every dish is different in consistency and spices and taste. Haven't tried their Chaats yet but will do very soon. They cater an awesome variety of Coffee and Tea and Hot Chocolate as well. Family outing, Friends meet up, quite dinner with your other half, or just a regular dinner/lunch outing for good authentic North Indian cuisine, 6th Main is the place to be.
