The place has a shabby sort of charm, hasn't been redecorated since the place was built but who cares? The grill teller is enormous, the Mage...mostly ends up taking something home. The Gyros is very good. The zatsiki could use a little more garlic. Fish dishes very good. Service is pretty hit or miss, one of the waiters is very friendly and the other has obviously been in Bavaria for too long!

The service was so bad, we had to repeatedly ask for a drink which we couldn't get and finally gave up....We waited more than minutes for the bill, after asking different people times. The meal was tallying on a piece of paper, rather than a proper invoice. Cash only and no invoice, my guess, is the restaurant isn't registering their sales and avoiding taxes. I wouldn't go back there again if the meal was free.

Portions are very large what we always look for), beer is good and low price. The only...thing is that no credit/debit cards are accepted, I had to walk to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash. Overall we loved this place and we will definitely go back!

Lucullus was the vibrant heart of Birkenau, and you were always greeted with a friendly, neighborly welcome. I celebrated my last few birthdays there in the beer garden – it was simply uncomplicated, sociable, and cozy. Thank you for the wonderful years; I think we'll all miss it terribly.
