There wa... read more It was supposed to be lunch with a new colleague, a chance to get to know each other. Our office is across the street. The restaurant was almost empty. There was one older woman and one other occupied table. Then over an hour's wait for a simple penne arrabbiata. And then there was the time to eat it. The excuse was that they cooked everything fresh. But that doesn't take an hour. Sorry, but that's unacceptable. We all wanted to get some work done. Three people were tied up. I ended up leaving half my food because I just wanted to get back to the office. Hippcampus is nice for the evening when you have plenty of time. But it's not for lunch. Next time for lunch, it'll be Indian or Käfer again. They're just around the corner, too.

Unfor... read more My experience at the restaurant (yesterday's visit): The evening started very promisingly – the staff initially seemed attentive, courteous, and pleasant. Unfortunately, this impression changed significantly over the course of the evening. I was there for a date, and we were laughing and chatting quite normally when suddenly a waitress, who was already at our table very often and was listening with remarkable attention, approached us and asked why we were laughing and if there was anyone with an insider's opinion. I found this remark extremely rude and inappropriate – it seemed as if she felt personally attacked, even though we had only said that she seemed pleasant. This was very irritating and unpleasant. In addition, I felt generally observed and my privacy invaded. I found it particularly strange that another waitress even followed me to the restroom – which left a strange and uncomfortable impression. However, I would like to highlight the food: The pasta arrabbiata was truly delicious, and the wine selection was also very good. Conclusion: The food was impressive, but unfortunately, the behavior of the service staff was severely marred. I would have appreciated more discretion, restraint, and respect for guests' privacy. Next time, I would prefer to order and enjoy the meal at home – there you can laugh, chat, and simply relax without feeling like you're constantly being watched.
