We only wanted a quick takeaway snack of chips, so we placed our order and were not informed of the long wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, my partner asked if our order was ready and was met with rudeness from the British server. The chips were also of poor quality. This unfortunate experience ruined a special birthday celebration for us. We will not be dining at this restaurant again.
I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for years and have never experienced any issues until recently. The last few times I have ordered fish and chips to go, I have had to wait 45 minutes each time. Despite giving it another chance today and being told it would only take 20 minutes, it actually took an hour and a half to receive my calamari and chips. This experience was frustrating and unacceptable. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
Today after a quite long break landing on the Mooloolaba fishing markets, because last time I served cod, which was adorned and this texture was frozen by, although we paid for fresh snapper. we ordered snapper and many sea scallops....Now my fish was a fish that was similar to a frozen flow basa mekong definitiw 100% not snapper, as I used the consistency and taste of fresh snapper and family members to possess a fresh seafood truck, which means that I can say quite a lot, what I would absolutely eat and this fish. my husbands fish was at least fresh and not a frozen piece fish, but was absolutely not snapper, it was a very strong tasting reef fish. the smell of the load itself was not a smell of a seafood shop that smells clean and fresh and we are sure that they need a visit from local authorities to check this and also find out what they sell instead of the fresh seafood they are advertising. we asked that my fish should be replaced and when it was the guy on the server, where they would pick their allegedly fresh seafood from the nasty when I wanted the certainty that this was in the did fresh snapper and told me loudly and angry that the fish will be the same as it was last time. I told him I hope not because it wasn't the snapper we paid for and then he closed the servery window. our scallops were advertised as sea scallops and we ordered a baptism of them expected that they were fresh and with the roe up, as in pastness, when we bought them from there. but they were large and frozen without roe on them, similar to those that they buy from the super market in the frozen section and delivered from china. we could not eat many of them, even if we were really hungry and we are hard to find the bad taste later out of the mouth. I would recommend honestly people and traveling to clearly control from this place because there is much not right with this place. They were earlier good, but I have read a lot of google and other reviews, as after the terrible experience to come home and there are more than just a few people saying that they have become sick, from this place to eat and many people asking what they have actually eaten. good luck for anyone who reads this review and still decides to eat there.
We were in mooloolaba for 8 nights. we bought cooked and raw garnel, beetle and a lot of raw fish for home prepared dinner. we had once cooked fish and chips for lunch. all were fantastic and we had to bring back garnel. after brisbane, as we could not tell the family how good they were and not take some.
After visiting Mooloolaba, we decided to try the fish and chips at this restaurant. It was quite disappointing. We had expected that for $13.00, the fish would be impeccable but it tasted as if it had been frozen. The batter was thick, oily, and overcooked. We also wished they offered a light beer option. While the chips were decent, they weren't quite up to the standard of a traditional fish and chip shop. Overall, we were not impressed. On a positive note, the cold coleslaw was exceptional.
