Excellent food!! We usually calm down for takeout, but finally managed to eat. The food was great: The fried scallops were very good and juicy. All fish are fresh and our server, I think he was also the owner, was extremely human and helpful. The chicken was juicy. My only wish is that more honey on the fried chicken really home with the sweet / savory combo! View all feedback.
What Cece Fowler doesn't like about The Shrimp Barn:
You 'll love this place if you LOVE BURNT FOOD!!! I wish I took pictures of the burnt jalapeño bacon wrapped shrimp and the owner 's special apple donuts ! The Honey chicken was probably fried at least 3x 's! It was rock hard! I couldn 't even taste the chicken! I highly recommend this place if you are on a diet! View all feedback.
Very cool owners..Good food..Nice atmosphere..Friendly staff! Try a few things on the menu, you won't be disappointed!
As for the salad dressing, it was unbelievably gelatinous; I turned the bottle upside down, and it didn’t budge, resembling a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I ordered grilled chicken on my salad, and it was a disaster—charred on the outside and somehow raw or frozen on the inside, with a smell reminiscent of burning coal. I really can't understand how this place is still open. On a positive note, the servers were very friendly and kind, but unfortunately, the food was absolutely inedible.
This is the best seafood restaurant in the area! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the menu offers the best selection for miles. I can’t wait to return! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
The food was excellent. The alligator was perfectly cooked and not tough at all. My endless fish was seasoned well and cooked just right. The shrimp was delicious. The only downside was the limited amount of tartar sauce—they didn’t provide enough, so I had to ask for more multiple times. Additionally, the waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu items. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience. Service: Dine-in; Meal type: Dinner; Price per person: $10–20.
The fish is incredibly fresh, and the food is simply delicious. I really enjoyed the fritters and the hush puppies. The apple cinnamon fritters were especially tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant!
