It?s just a well-run business, and the staff are super friendly and good at their job. They have all the convenient modern payment systems inside the store and at the pumps, free air hose, and an awesome inventory variety inside. They do get swampedat times, especially when three straight customers want one of every cigarette on the wall, and there?s only one worker on theregisters. But they?re running ads and fliers and raising wages to hire all the time, so it seems like it?s just hard to keepfully staffed in this economic climate.

I worked at the Milton Sheetz for some time, and my experience from the inside reveals a lot of concerning practices regarding management and staff. I reported these issues to the corporate office multiple times over a significant period. While they recently took some action, it feels like it wasn’t enough. I ultimately had to give a one-month notice and leave my job because my requests to have my religious observance days recognized were denied. These days are legally protected in West Virginia, yet the manager refused to accommodate my request. Instead, he indicated that the decision would need to be made by a group vote according to Sheetz's seniority protocol. However, in discussions with the regional director and an HR admin, I was informed that seniority doesn’t apply in-store settings; it should be based on ability and training. While working at Sheetz store 424, I suffered an injury to my neck on the job a few months ago. A current assistant manager, who was pulling a heavy box from storage, accidentally struck me. There were witnesses to the incident, and although the store manager instructed him to file a STARS incident report, he neglected to do so. Since the accident, I've experienced issues that I suspect are related to that incident. Unfortunately, this assistant manager was favored by the previous store manager, which contributed to a culture of favoritism in the workplace. Many former employees, as well as those still there, shared their concerns about the situation. Additionally, I had scheduled six days of paid time off (PTO) before I gave notice, but the manager decided my last working day would fall before my PTO started, so I was not compensated for those days. The overall environment at the store became emotionally exhausting due to the ongoing issues. I felt I had no support like others who were favored, and I decided it was best to leave my job, despite losing my income and struggling to find help from governing agencies for the wrongs I and other employees experienced. It’s worth noting that Sheetz is already involved in litigation related to discrimination and employment issues.

I just visited this store and witnessed a supervisor, or at least I assumed he was, call the police on a customer who simply inquired why his out-of-state driver's license wasn’t being accepted. When the police arrived, they immediately confronted the man, which clearly embarrassed him. As I waited for my sandwich, I observed a scene that unjustly humiliated the customer. I don’t understand how they could involve law enforcement over a disagreement about cigarettes without any threats being made. This entire incident left me with a negative impression. As a long-time customer of Sheetz since the very first location opened in the Tri-state area, I feel that the young man involved should reconsider his role in customer service if this is how he represents Sheetz.

Daniel Poland is an unpleasant employee, and Sheetz should reconsider their decision to employ him. Although I don't know him personally, I have observed his poor treatment of customers on multiple occasions during my visits to the store. I believe it is important for the public to voice their concerns so that appropriate action can be taken.

I was in this location earlier today and I work in this area, but I live in Portland, Oregon. I stopped in at this location to get some tobacco products and the manager Daniel refused to sell me the tobacco products because my driver license wouldn’t grant the sale of the tobacco. He said it wouldn’t scan although he didn’t scan both barcodes. FYI one of the barcodes is for law enforcement use and the other is to verify age at stores you think he would know that. I told him I was going to step aside from the counter and call corporate an he didn’t like that because he knew he was giving me the run around. 10 min on hold with corporate while standing inside away from the counter Milton police show up an get right up in my space so I ask what’s the problem officer an he said I was the problem. I looked at the store manager Daniel an I asked him in front of the officer if he had asked me to leave at any point an he said no so I then asked why he called the police on me when I’m just wanting a more thorough explanation of why you can’t take my government issue Id as proof of age for me to buy the tobacco products. Which Is why I was currently calling corporate at the time it doesn’t matter if I was wrong or him it was handled way too out of hand. I was made to feel as if I was robbing the store just because of a discrepancy in the sale of a tobacco product. Don’t ever shop at this store an inform them you are calling corporate because they are in buddy buddy with the local Milton police. Apparently the cops here can tell you where to shop without ever being told to leave by the store itself. Never have I ever had the police called on me in a store for one but especially when keeping in mind I was never even asked to leave or given any sort of a warning that police were coming. So embarrassing an mind-boggling that such a highly accredited gas station like this can display the most unprofessional service.
