Sawmill Grill - Millinocket

We had intended to dine in before our hike up Mt. Katahdin, but unfortunately, we finished our trek later than expected. Since The Sawmill closes at 8 PM, we called ahead to order our food for takeout. The woman who took our order over the phone was incredibly friendly and ensured that we would enjoy our meal that evening. We picked up our food at 7:55 PM and returned to our Airbnb. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries, and it was truly delicious. If we go back to climb Mt. Katahdin again, I will definitely make it a point to dine in at The Sawmill.

Discovered this restaurant online while searching for dinner options during our stay in Baxter. We ordered fries, poutine, burgers, and a large meat pizza, and everything was absolutely fantastic. The prices were quite reasonable as well. The pizza had extra cheese, fluffy crust, quality toppings, and was simply delicious! The fries were crispy shoestring style. Although the server was managing with a shortage of staff, she stayed pleasant, helpful, and always had a smile. The cozy wooden decor added to the ambiance, and the place was very clean. Wow! Another excellent find in New England! I had the burger and it’s competing for the best burger I’ve ever had.
