As soon as I saw the horchata tiramisu on the menu, I had to have it! Every bite brought complete joy! I definitely recommend it, as you will be licking the class in need of seconds. I'm sad to say that things went From 100 to 20 REAL FAST. I tried some spicy chicken pasta dish. It had no flavor and the chicken was so fried that my fork wouldn't pierce the morsel what.so.ever. Finally get used to the slow service in mexiko. you get used to a person who waits a little longer for their meal to get to while others already eat. that was on another level, not only 3 of us waited. for so long for our dinner (or the rice and drilling that should accompany our meal) that all others were done. the last item to serve was our guacamole appetizer! when we complained, the owner was defensiw and unapologetic. we asked for our bill, the choice to skip whisper that arrived without the wee (w, they had only two bottles to choose for us.) we did not notice it, but when we gave them our credit card, the owner came and checked the bill and noticed. I guess he had second thoughts about the defense because he gave us the wee free. as he would have, but by then it was a little late...BTW, that was just okay.
Once I saw the horchata tiramisu on the menu, I had to have it! every bite brought full joy! I recommend it anyway, as they will lick the class in seconds. I am sad to say that the dings almost went from 100 to 20 real. I tried a spicy chicken pasta dish. it had no taste, and the hunch was so fried that my fork would not pierce the morsel what. so.ever service was slow and the server came just once what was when I asked about my check. all in all, great dessert, but bad service and no such delicious dish.
I know it is a touristy spot; therefore, you will pay tourist prices. However, I am willing to pay that if the food is good. The food here is average, at least it was on this particular visit. I had a catrina of cochinita (Yucatecan...pulled pork) and it almost tasted like BBQ from the U.S on a bun that was seasoned with herbs. The fries were somewhat soggy. My friend ate quesadillas but basically, they were tacos as they were fried and crunchy. Not horrible food, but not great and not worth the price. I will say they do have a good margarita. I do not like overly sweet margaritas and their lime margaritas are very tart! Service: mediocre. I don't think our waiter wanted to be there by any means.
Lovely decor, great service and lovely food. I like this place very much. If you here and the church opposite is open pop your head around the door the decor is amazing. I enjoy the homemade leamonade and sopa de lima here.
Having past this place many times, we finally decided to give it a try for dinner. Don't be deceived by the unusual appearance of the front, there is a fantastic courtyard restaurant in back. What a lovely spot to sit and enjoy good conversation and...great food. Everything we ordered was fantastic, including some of the best margaritas in the city. The service was excellent as well, and all at a very reasonable price.
