Unique experience in Merida…Best Seafood in Town. The place is cozy and makes you feel like at sea. Try the Coconut Shrimps. For a better experience I recommend sharing ;

The place is a bit dated in it's decor, but the food service is phenomenal………………………………………………………...

There are just way better seafood places in Merida with better price, variety, location, service and flavour I'm afraid to say. I think that once upon a time it was really a place to go for the city's higher class, but it's pretty outdated

I went to Muelle 8 for lunch around 12:45 and encountered an empty restaurant, lunch doesn't get going until 1:30 or so but was welcomed by the lounging waiters. My choice for lunch was something, which I found to be quite good: Shrimp crepes stuffed...with huitlacoche in a maize cream sauce. See picture. I ordered the half order as I wanted a main dish of fresh fish. My crepes were excellent with a distinct contrast between the creamed corn sauce and the black huitlacoche around the shrimp, clearly a winner of a dish! My other choice unhappily was not as great: Grouper filet al ajillo. I was presented with a filet of fish drowned in garlic oil. Service was good but not attentive.

Traffic and parking at 2:30 pm (high lunch time) is a pain but the valet parking helped. The food and service were very good. The ambiance leaves something to be desired. Since it was a business lunch and I was not paying, I can't comment...on price. I'd recommend it for the food and service. I'll have to try it again some evening and will provide more details. They have been in business for as long as I can remember and that is usually a good sign.
