We wanted to come out for something light for dinner so we ordered an empanada de queso and a longaniza from the starters. They were way too rich, had no subtlety and nothing nice about them, it was like eating real junk food. Do not come here! I wonder if the chef doesn't take the nights off and they just heat something up for you, this is the problem

This restaurant was at the upper end of a moderate priced meal in Merida. It was a pleasant, air conditioned, and quiet, relaxed, quality setting to eat in. It is in the Fiesta Americana area, so can be walked to from there. We had the Combo de Maya, Tzio de Maya, and two drinks each of Chaya drink and Horchata. All were very good. They also brought out, included in price at no extra charge, two helpings of two different kinds of bean dips and corn chips as an appetizer. We also ordered one flan to try, but it was just OK; but then I make fabulous flan so compare all flan to mine; would not order flan again. The food was nicely presented. This was actually our first time trying Yucatecan food, and we enjoyed it. The chaya and the horchata drinks were a hit! If you only order one entree and one drink each, you can get fed for around $8 U.S. dollars. However we ended up ordering more, so our bill ended up being about $10 each before the tip.
