While some diners enjoyed the tasty and reasonably priced meals, others were disappointed with the limited menu and quality of the food. The decor was noted as being a bit dated, but the staff received high praise for their excellent customer service. Despite some hiccups with noise levels and slow service during busy times, the restaurant was commended for accommodating large groups and special occasions. Overall, diners expressed a mix of positive and negative experiences, making The Prince of Merewether a place worth considering for a casual meal or celebratory event.
Had a fantastic lunch for two. The eye fillet steaks were cooked to perfection, lovely hand cut chips and green beans. Desserts were bombe Alaska and cocunut and orange cake. It was all delicious.
Friendly and efficient service. Cosy atmosphere. Nice variety of food and wine. Our choice for the evening was: Shared fresh sashimi platter Salt Pepper Squid Crab Linguine Drink: Bottle of smooth Italian Red wine.
Great food but extremely noisy. Unfortunately there is no wall between the bar and restaurant, so the noise is over bearing making it extremely difficult to have a conversation during dinner.
Usually, the place is great, but on this public holiday, there were only about four tables seated, yet the service took for ever. It took about 25 minutes to get a kids menu and it took us an hour to have food on the table from when we arrived.
The food was delicious and the service from all staff was friendly and attentive. A wonderful place to dine well with family and friends.
