Team was tops for service, wine menu to drool over and enjoy, and a quality of menu and delivery to only dream of outside the top end city spaces. Well done, will come many more times. From the moment we called to book to the time we left, it was a superb experience. Busy, and I can see why. Delivered on all aspects of service, food, ambience. Will certainly be back.

This was my third time at The Recreation having been introduced to it by friends and subsequently taken friends it was time to put it to the real test by taking our experienced foodie teenage daughters. The test was passed with flying colours. The staff/management are professional, intelligently humorous and attentive. The menu is perfect to share and the flavours are brilliantly balanced and refined without being fussy. A favourite? All the dishes I have had in my three visits are memorable in their own way. The wine list is refreshingly different (without being bizarrely confusing) and very well priced. Get onto The Recreation now - it is simply too good to miss. #NoFakeRestaurant Here.

The Rec is the place I always think to take people, when I want to be able to relax and trust that everyone will have a happy night and be well taken care of.

The appetizers and main courses were presented beautifully, and I particularly enjoyed the BBQ chicken. The desserts were amazing! I had the Bombe Alaska with apricots, which featured a perfect soft, oozy meringue inside a crisp exterior. The plum tart was also outstanding. Yum! Overall, it's a lovely setting for a delightful meal. P.S. Did I mention the homemade bread and freshly churned butter?????
