My husband and I visited this charming Mexican restaurant for our anniversary. We purchased a Groupon deal for a 5-course meal. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was decent for the price, but we would have preferred homemade tortillas instead of prepackaged ones. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for small intimate gatherings. What Beth Beier doesn't like about Tequila:
We got a Groupon deal for a 3 course Dinner, we shared an entree of Nachos and they were quite good, then we had a burrito for our Main and it was very disappointing, there was not much meat in them and it was filled with lettuce and rice we didn't find them very nice and then we had churros for desert they were a bit dry. The frozen margarita was nice and refreshing. I don't think we will be back again. View all feedback.
This place has so much potential but it was so meh. The location and vibe of the place is cool and relaxed, and they have fav beers like modello and
Discreet food and very small portionsWe had nachos that were supposed to be large but actually seemed at most medium.
This was great Mexican! The food is very flavoursome and tasty!! Lots of great gluten free options.
Warmly welcomed by the staff and treated to a wonderful dinner with a large jug of margarita to assist in our fun night. Loved it.
We were heading to dinner and stumbled across this Mexican Restaurant while driving down Toorak Rd. We decided to not go to our usual haunt and give something new a try.Regrettably, the entire experience was meh.The décor was kitsch Mexicana (a little too tacky, less is more people.) Cheap wooden tables and it seemed like a small business which we are always happy to support. We were seated and brought over some water and glasses and they gave us a few minutes to look over there menu. I ordered the Chimichanga and my friend ordered the Enchilada. My Chimichanga arrived in about 7 minutes which was alarmingly fast. It was to come with Mexican rice and a pineapple/pomegranate salsa. Well that salsa had about 5 pomegranate seeds and the pineapple? What pineapple? The baked tortilla was overpowered by tomato paste. The chicken was however tender. It didn't have much flavour. The rice, where to start. Obviously made ahead of time and reheated once orders come in. The didn't even bother to make sure my rice was fluffed or not stuck together (which it was).My friend's enchilada looked really dry and why be stingy on cheese? Hers came with a bean dip, guacamole dip and salsa. She gave me her guac and it was probably the worst one I have ever had. If you can't "make" guacamole, what kind of Mexican Restaurant are you? That should be an absolute staple! We had still not been asked if we would like to order any drinks. As a small business which was not particularly busy on a Saturday night, don't you want to try and get as much money out of the patronage you do receive? For many a business, the drinks menu keeps them afloat.Onto dessert. I asked the waitress if the Churros were homemade. She answered no, they are frozen. WHY aren't you making churros?? That's just entirely LAZY.We ordered chocolate mousse instead. AWFUL. How can you screw up chocolate mousse? A five year old can make that. It was grainy, an awful consistency and just unpleasant. The vanilla ice cream that accompanied it was ok. A little too cinnamon spiced but ok.All in all, I don't recommend this restaurant. I watched the other few tables service and all the food looked below par.I went to the bathroom (past the kitchen) and they was no cooking going on there. Witnessed the kitchenhand removing food from the microwave. Yep.We paid and left. They didn't bother to ask how we enjoyed it, nor had they ever offered us any other beverages the whole meal.Spend your hard earned money somewhere that deserves it. This is not the place.
