We had a nice spontaneous walk-in dinner here at Supernormal. The staff were all very friendly and appears to enjoy working there. Loved getting variety of different small dishes and sharing together. Can be a romantic destination if you choose it to be : $180 for two people made us full, which included a cocktail and dessert each. Only concern is the front door is very heavy to open good for security, nobody will be running out without paying their bill. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Supernormal is an exceptional dining experience in the heart of Melbourne — effortlessly cool, refined yet relaxed, and always delivering when it comes to flavour, atmosphere, and service. We opted for the banquet menu, and it was truly the perfect way to explore the full spectrum of what Supernormal does best. Every dish arrived beautifully plated and thoughtfully paced, building flavour and excitement course after course. The menu seamlessly blends modern Asian influences — from Japanese and Korean to Chinese — in a way that feels both creative and deeply satisfying. From fresh and delicate starters to rich, umami-packed mains, every bite was spot on. Highlights included the New England lobster roll, which more than lives up to the hype, and the sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and vibrant. The banquet struck a wonderful balance between bold, punchy dishes and comforting, elegant ones — showcasing the kitchen’s range and finesse. To complement the food, we explored their extensive wine list, and it did not disappoint. Whether you're after something local or an international gem, their collection offers variety, depth, and some really thoughtful pairings. The sommelier was knowledgeable and approachable, helping us select a wine that perfectly elevated the banquet experience. The service throughout was warm, polished, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff moved seamlessly around the dining room, always ready with a recommendation or to check in at just the right moment. The space itself is chic and modern, with a clean, minimal aesthetic and a buzzing open kitchen that adds to the energy of the room. Supernormal is not just a restaurant — it’s a full sensory experience. Whether you’re celebrating something special or simply indulging in a night out, it’s a Melbourne must-visit. We’ll absolutely be back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $80–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I would go there just for vegan rice cakes as they are yummy very hard to find. Good service. They know what they can make vegan but they should have vegan labelling. Food a bit small and pricey for me. Nothing my 2 year old could eat.
