Description

Supermaxi is a popular restaurant in Melbourne offering Italian cuisine with a modern twist. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with a clean interior and friendly staff. However, some customers have reported feeling unwelcome due to the staff being rude or unprofessional. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, with pizzas being a highlight for many diners. The service can be hit or miss, with some experiencing slow check-ins while others praise the attentive and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable, but drinks can be on the expensive side. Overall, Supermaxi is a great spot for a tasty Italian meal, but be prepared for potentially noisy surroundings and mixed service experiences.

We felt unwilling when we entered, as we were dressed half casually (jeans and jacket). the Asian guy at the bar said we shouldn't wear guards inside and was aggressive about asking us why we thought it was acceptable. I run a restaurant and it was never a problem for each of my customers to wear inside or dress in a certain way.

Came to supermaxi for dinner with friends and had a nice meal. hard to blame! the only thing that could have been better is the service, as it was sometimes hard to get the waiter attention! at the beginning we had the crossbed mozzarella with olivenhain, which was super delish. for the net we could not decide between pizza and pasta, so we both have! the pizza and pasta dishes were both excellent! the real highlight of the meal was dessert! the desserts all sounded so good, so we got the tiramisu, the chocolate panna cotta with heaven sorbet, the pavlowa roulade with berries, and the fried custard with ice. While they were all divine, our favorites were the pavlowa and fried custard. would definitely recommend supermaxi for people who have a relaxed but unforgettable dinner with delicious food and wine!

I arrived at Supermaxi and the inside is pleasant and has nice decor. I was seated almost immediately and given a menu, I noticed very quickly how the staff weren't good at checking in on you (how you were going), I'm not saying they need to check every 5 seconds but once or even twice would be good. Me and my mother ordered a Margherita and a puttanesca. While we waited for our order my mother asked if the heater could be turned up as it was a tad chilly inside, the waiter responded with a sure but also made a very awkward, rude, sexist comment as he turned it up which both made us very uncomfortable. All the staff seemed almost annoyed we were there, everything seemed like an effort but when talking to some people coming in ordering take out they were very pleasant. The pizza however was very good. I will most likely not be returning to Supermaxi not due to the pizza but due to the staff.
