Was Whalesfoodadventure at Rudimentary a mag?
Very friendly staff. Food came out quick. Soy flatwhite was nice. However the chai latte could be abit sweeter. Pumpkin and humus salad was delicious, a very big roast pumpkin serving. Flavours worked well together especially the goats cheese. Breakfast roll with potato hash was delicious. Carrot cake was nice and moist packed with flavour. Loved the walnuts on them View all feedback.

What Zelida Lombardi dislikes about Rudimentary:
Well it's all in the name, RUD-imentary: surly service, unhelpful staff because hollandaise sauce is a pre-portioned accompaniment to a dish I didn't order I was refused it with my poached eggs. Sadly they don't offer mayo either totally uninterested in trying to...satisfy my dining experience! When it came to payment, there was no asking if I enjoyed my meal or thank you for my custom. Avoid at all costs! View all feedback.

3.5 stars Where the f is Rudimentary?! The GPS said it’s here but I can’t find... oh here is a sign of a coffee cup! It must be here, nestled amoungst a semi residential area, beside the house offering psychic reading. This understated place was bustling and we waited a few minutes for our table.<br/ <br/ Our coffee orders came quickly enough, the kids loved their babycinos and I love my weak soy mocha. But food was another matter, we waited quite a bit of time for it, and the kids are getting restless.<br/ <br/ Our food came, the kids loved their grain salad with rice, quinoa, pomegranate, kale chips and dill. I got waffles (I know, kids are eating healthier than me! and it was so lovely decorated beautifully poached figs and walnuts. Unfortunately the walnuts are quite stale, and it ruined the otherwise yummy dish. <br/ <br/ Hubby didn’t love his porridge either. I didn’t try it but it looked a bit undercooked and hubby said it was quite chewy. I still wanted to go back and try other stuff though, my soy mocha was so on point!

My favourite shipping container in Melbourne :P we went there a few times. Always love our food and our coffee. Love to sit by the window and watch the doggies in the court yard. Will go back again for sure!

I absolutely love the concept Rudimentary brings – the café is designed with a shipping container as a base, but everything else retrofitted. The use of natural woods and large windows allow plenty of light to come in.<br/ An element of sustainability also comes into play with large rainwater tanks, and the coffee grounds being re-used as compost for the beautiful edible gardens.<br/ The gardens allow the chefs to be creative, and you will find the menu is very seasonal. <br/ <br/ The waffles were delicious – the roasted figs were nicely caramelised, and the bacon was extremely crisp. Good balance of flavours, carried by the waffle.<br/ Coffee was also very good, the latte was quite balanced and almost chocolately, and the milk was tightly steamed.<br/ <br/ The ambiance and vibe at Rudimentary is perfect for chilling out on sunny days.
