We just found the some of the best boiled dumplings in Melbourne. Inside a dirty arcade hidden on Little Collins, between Elizabeth and Queen, there's a
There is nothing overly formal about Queen's Kitchen and the food is nothing extraordinary, but the quality is very good and it is a very relaxed atmosphere run by a Turkish family and they are extraordinarily helpful making/modifying any order - you just have to ask. You can either eat in or take-away. It is my favourite breakfast spot for a traditional Aussie breakfast and my lunch favourite is their vegetarian role with fetta, plus they make a super large hot chocolate (if you ask). They also have pizza and alcohol ! The only downsides are the limited range of cold drinks and the fridges are a tad noisy plus the TV can be a bit of of noisy box too, but overall you do get value for your money with good service to go with your Kabab!
I used to frequent this restaurant often, but sadly it is now permanently closed. The Turkish menu has been replaced with Asian noodles. I will miss the warm atmosphere, the hospitality towards customers, and the huge hot chocolate drinks. It's a shame to see it go. The owners, who are Turkish, have decided to move on to bigger ventures.
The restaurant is not overly formal, and the food is nothing extraordinary, but the quality is very good. My favorite breakfast is their traditional Aussie breakfast, and for lunch, I enjoy their vegetarian roll with fattya. They also serve a super big hot chocolate (if you ask for it) and offer pizza and alcohol. The only drawbacks are the limited selection of cold drinks, noisy refrigerators, and slightly louder music. Overall, it is worth visiting for the good service and delicious kababs.
I used to frequent this restaurant regularly, but unfortunately it is now closed. The Turkish cuisine has been replaced by Asian noodles. I will miss their great sense of humor, their generosity towards customers, and their huge hot chocolate drinks. There was no farewell notice, it felt like they vanished like the Turks at ANZAC cove, bravely retreating after a dedicated presence. I hope they have moved on to bigger and better places!
