I have been going to Minh 's for years and there is a reason for that. This hole in wall cafe has none of the flash of nearby places but has the best vietnamese in Moonee Ponds maybe even Melbourne. The Bahn Mi is particularly popular and...there is a queue out the door of people lining up for this Vietnamese standard. Most of the trade is take away but we mostly eat in. Seating is tight four tables inside and a bar along the window seating just 12 14 people. Plus there is another dozen outside. Once they get to know you the service is personal. For years, my wife, her father and I would meet here for lunch on a Friday. After a while we no longer had to order, they knew what we each had all we had to do was say, 'Hello, three today '. In addition to the ever popular Bahn Mi, they serve Pho, rice dishes, home made dim sims and other delicacies I can 't name. As far as I can tell everything but the bread is made in house. This is really authentic. Don 't be put off by the bain marie, the turnover ensures that the food is always fresh. Several points to note: this isn 't a restaurant, its a small cafe, it is not licensed, and is not open for dinner. Would I go back? I do regularly.
