We had a work end of year lunch here with about 15 people. We were given a room at the back of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was efficient and flexible. A couple of our group needed to leave early and the staff happily got their desserts ahead of the rest. All in all an excellent spot for a group. View all feedback.
What drtgfnz doesn't like about Merchant:
As indicated, not the ‘wow’ factor as last time. Food tasty. Drafty and cold. Dislike bathrooms not actually within the premises. Dessert that we ordered never arrived. Overall lack of attention to the small details and customers. Seemed too there was either a staff member or close friend seated near kitchen pass who received a great deal of attention, and his wine and food delivered very promptly. Not a good impress... Very impressed....without prompting, they offered to make a vegan meal for me. Lots of places force me to settle for vegetarian. This sort of initiative from staff sets a great venue apart from a good one. The wine was sensational too.
My partner and I shared the 4 course meal. Absolutely amazing, a taste of what's on offer and really great quality food. I strongly recommend this restaurant
Fantastic food from start to finish. Great simple Italian food that was good enough to make me forgive a few minor service flaws. We will be back. A hidden gem.
Fabulous meal, attentive and experts at their craft Chef's specials are definitely worthwhile. Noisy but that's an Osteria isn't it? Loved it!
Our large family experience was excellent. The food, the staff, the fact that it is a busy environment all added to the experience. The wine list is extensive and the plates of food true to Italy with flavour and subtilty. Merchant is now on my favourite restaurant lists. Thank yhou again.
