Was Rhett A at Meatmaiden a mag?
Had a really good night. The restaurant managed to increase our booking from 4 to 6 at the last minute, despite seeming full. Excellent service, good wine prices. Will definitely return View all feedback.
What Lura Mayer dislikes about Meatmaiden:
I had a $60 terrible steak here. We paid $250 for two people and I didn't finish my meal. This is the first time in a few years that I leave a negative review... View all feedback.
Meatmaiden was a steakhouse conveniently located in the middle of the CBD. We were there for lunch and ordered the grilled steak with Wagyu tongue and leek ricotta tart for the starters. The steak was pretty good although a bit too done/not as tender as I’d prefer it to be. The Wagyu tongue was delicious, and the ricotta tart was well balanced with its hollandaise sauce. It was a bit dark inside the restaurant but the ambiance was pretty cool; modern and classy yet still cosy. Service was friendly.
Dined here for an anniversary dinner a month back. Great ambience and service. Started off with the tartare, followed by sherbet gimlet and eye fillet. Will definitely be coming back
Loved it. The meat was soo delicious, a definite must for meat lovers. Great choice of starters and sides too with attentive service and casual atmosphere.
Disappointing Experience, Felt a Bit Predatory We booked for a group of 10 and were only told upon arrival that we had to get the $100 per person chef’s special, fair enough it was on the website but never mentioned when we called to book. Once staff noticed that people were ordering drinks, our table was seemingly forgotten — plates sat uncleared for over 30 minutes between courses. When mains finally arrived, they were cold. The meat was way too tough and chewy for the price, and the greens were limp and soggy. Between the forced set menu and the subpar execution, the whole experience felt more like a cash grab than hospitality. Photo of the greens one plate that was obviously held back between courses. Price per person: A$160–180 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
