Description

Ling Nan restaurant in Melbourne's Chinatown receives mixed reviews from diners. While some praise the tasty and authentic Chinese dishes like Mongolian Beef and Pippies in XO sauce, others complain about the rude service and high minimum spend requirement. The atmosphere is described as basic and typical of a Chinatown eatery, with lightning-fast service and generous portions of food. Despite the service issues, many recommend the restaurant for its delicious food, such as Lobster Noodles and Fried Pigeon. Overall, Ling Nan seems to be a hit or miss dining experience, depending on individual preferences and expectations.

Few years ago I would have given this place 5 stars based on the food. Since then though, I've been to many a more Chinese restaurant and my tastes have evolved. What has not evolved is the service at this place. Yes it's fast but they are rude and practically throw the food on your table.Food is focused on deep fried and there is not a whole lot here that is healthy.Melbourne has one of the best Chiba towns in the world. This restaurant does not fall into the category of restaurants that hemp elivate it to that level.Don't bother... go somewhere else!

Food is really good especially the pipes in XO sauce , service is fast , they're a bit cold sometimes though, a great value and really nice when you're starting at night !

Yes, not the best service.. but hey, if you're looking for some quality Chinese food, I'm telling you this is the bomb.. we order the lobster noodles, clams with you tiao, beef Hor fun, fried Pigeon (they do it better than the French, no offence). Lobster noodle - out of this world but be prepared to fill the hole in your pocket as it would set you back $250.

We came here for a late night snack after karaoke and I’m not sure if it was because I was starving or sobering up but it was the best Chinese food ever . We got the fried rice , Chinese sausage , fried chicken , beans and mince all so delicious and the best thing is this place is open til super late

The pipis and chicken ribs are a definite must-try! This is a must-visit spot in Melbourne! Dipping the donuts in the XO sauce is an unforgettable experience you won't want to miss!
