Thankfully a local recommended Krimper to me otherwise I never would have found it, and I am so pleased I did. I had breakfast here on a Friday morning. Had no problems getting a table at 7.45am, but by the time we left the place was full. Coffee was fine, and the ‘creamed spinach and mushroom’ with chorizo, poached egg, hollandaise with toast was really tasty and just the right size. My colleague had the ‘avo affair... What User doesn't like about Krimper:
I've been here twice and on both occasions it's been nothing but poor. On the first occasion, the food I wanted (slow cooked beef ribs) wasn't available--and that was at 11:30am! Then the on the second occasion I had a team meeting with coworkers and our coffee took over 25 minutes to arrive. To add insult to injury my coffee (affogato) wasn't even available either! Never again. Great atmosphere but poor service. View all feedback.
This Melbourne cafe is tucked away in a hidden alley behind an unassuming door. The atmosphere inside is reminiscent of an industrial warehouse, adding to its charm. The menu offers a variety of classic dishes such as eggs on toast, porridge, French toast, and smashed avocado, with gluten-free options available. The coffee is also top-notch.
Can’t believe I have only discovered this gem lately in the beautiful Guildford Lane. Very much in love with their rustic feel which represents Melbourne very well. I had their soy latte smooth and delicate. My colleagues had their coffee and agree that it’s great too. The owners are friendly and helpful with my request. Will come back to try the food.
Nice food and coffee. Friendly staffs too. A must visit in Melbourne city. It might not be easy to spot, but definitely worth your time to explore them.
The waitress told me she liked my outfit. what more could you ask for from a breakfast destination
In a converted warehouse in one of Melbourne's fabulous laneways, Krimper is a fantastic cafe which has a cool atmosphere. My only real complaint is that there isn't a lot of natural light, so it can be quite dark at times. However, there is plenty of room, and it's quite comfortable.<br/ <br/ This place can get quite busy, but still has lovely and friendly service. The coffee is really good, and I've had in the cafe and as takeaway. The menu is also really good, but my latest visit involved some delicious cookies and brownies. The perfect spot for a long brunch, or even better for a quick caffeine fix; Krimper has managed to survive in Melbourne's busy cafe scene sticking to what it does well, which is make fabulous coffee.
