Description

Kitty Burns, located next to the Yarra River, offers a picturesque setting with a creative and appealing menu. Despite the pleasant staff and beautiful atmosphere, some patrons have found their dining experience to be disappointing. While the cafe has won international awards for its design and offers a large and tasty menu, some guests have been let down by the quality of the food and coffee. Overall, Kitty Burns seems to be a mixed bag - with some diners enjoying the experience while others have left feeling underwhelmed.

We went to Kitty Burns for lunch. For myself, I ordered Wagyu Burger (single not double with a cup of latte. The burger is good, patty is juicy plus nice ham and melted cheese. Latte is perfect. My son ordered chilly scrambled eggs.. he...said he likes his meals. And seem this kind of scrambled eggs is one of their favorite menu since I saw in other tables people also ordered it.

Pros but more cons here. Beautiful position right on river, Beautiful, thought out, light filled space. I ordered the salted caramel banana smoothie. Amazing and delicious. I loved that it was vegan, which is nice for a change. Cons though; service was surly and dismissive. They brought out a salted caramel cake by mistake instead of my drink and then acted like I was to blame and that it was a hassle to change. I almost felt like he wanted me to eat even though I didn't order it and it was before my lunch had arrived. Then my fish burger was actually so dry and tasteless I ended up leaving half. No body asked if it was okay. My husband ordered chicken and waffles which he said sounded interesting on paper but found it sickly sweet. A shame as the place had good reviews and was expensive, my smoothie costing approx 9 dollars. Then when we went to pay we did a dance around the counter as we were ushered from one side to another by staff, only to find we were in the right place the first time and then got stuck behind a couple who arrived after us. All in all, not great due to service and the food was just plain. Don't think I will recommend unless service change and the lunch is as thoughtful as their drinks.

I work near kitty burns and have tried it a few times unfortunately I've never really found it to be as good as the reviews. I tried it again today and that's it for me. To the wait staff - I want to order and I want to eat- it's simple. Today, I finally got the waitress to take our order, (sorry for interrupting your conversation) two meals came out, then I tracked her down again got the third meal (more chatting with the barista) but then you bring out a meal that was so clearly over cooked that it was unable to be eaten. To the manager who then asked if everything was OK, if you don't want my feedback, don't ask, please don't pretend to care if you don't.Kitty burns is in a lovely spot, and you promise a lot, unfortunately time and time again you fail to deliver.Never again for me

Kitty burnt us with its cozy friendly place on today 's raining day. My wife and I, started to order coffee and juice aka 'Cold Killer ' hoping to warm ourselves... coconut milk caught my curiosity on the menu so I decided to order coconut cafe latte. Drinks came promptly and the coffee was interesting balanced for who has never tried coffee with coconut milk. The waitress was very attentive and very suggestive to us since it was our first visit. For our meal we had Popcorn Chilli Chicken served on Waffles and Egg Burnadict. It was delightful awesome meal, specially the pork neck roll with eggs benedict on top 'yolk lava running down ' . The decor is nice, the bar/pastry counter at the center is beautiful. Staff are friendly! Perfect Sunday spent! We definitely will go back

Love the food at Kitty Burns. It always looks amazing even a simple avocado and toast comes out on a wooden platter. The almond milk hot chocolate with a pretty flower is just gorgeous. Let alone the mug. I had a beautiful veggie lasagna and my partner had the omelette which was equally as tasty. We normally bike ride but decided to drive and park in the underground car park which was no problem at all finding. Just remember to purchase a parking ticket. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy easy to get a table straight away. Definitely going back.
