Been here so many times it's not funny. Never lets you down for a super fast and tasty meal. Not the place for a romantic night out but a cheap lunch or dinner when your in a hurry.
I've been in Melbourne for about 2 weeks, and everything here seems freaking expensive. That's when a friend of mine told me about this restaurant. Really affordable, great food, nice services, fast and generous portion. Will come back at least once a week to try all of their menu. "Chicken steak with fried rice 9$" very recommended (the chicken steak is fried and so big that you can't finish it with the fried rice alone)*PS : fried rice is NOT halal (pork). Ask for steam rice instead for 1$ less (8$)
Good location, generous helpings and very fast and pleasant service. Food is nice and hot.most dishes are under $10 .
I felt a little heartbroken when that pesky metro tunnel shut down Port Phillip Arcade, home to what might be the best value cooked meal in town. My initial Google searches took me to an arcade off Swanston, but it turned out to be an abandoned shop. So, when I discovered it had quietly reopened in the old Hako location, I was thrilled! The star of the show here is definitely the chicken steak meal. It features two lightly battered chicken thighs, steamed rice, and a small portion of seasonal vegetables, all generously covered in a classic Cantonese-style gravy. Don't forget to add some chili oil from the table—it's amazing! You can even upgrade to fried rice instead of steamed for just an extra dollar. What a fantastic deal!
