Went there on a Scoopon deal, in a group of 4. Loved it, and would definitely return even without the deal, it was great value for money, plenty to chose from and not one of the 15 dishes we ordered could we fault. View all feedback.

I have been to Okami several times before, but this was my first time at the Footscray location. I wanted to show my family how great Okami is, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed and embarrassed. The service was either very slow or simply non-existent, even after reminding the waitstaff multiple times. We were not even given a drinks menu. The restaurant was very busy and seemed overwhelmed trying to fulfill... View all feedback.

Recently went to Okami in Footscray using Scoopon voucher $55 all you can eat for 2 and got 2 vouchers for the 4 of us. We went at 5pm early sitting on Saturday night. It was full and packed. The staff were very nice and friendly. We ordered quite a few dishes and they were all extremely well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was our first time having Japanese cuisine and it was great we loved it. Most of the dishes are quite small we had to end up ordering more of the same for the 4 of us. We tried nearly everything. Standouts were the terriaki chicken and chicken skewers, fried rice, terriaki yika, spicy miso yaki, fried chickenUndon, beef carpaccio, sushi roll platter, sushi and sushimi platter, miso steak, chicken katsu and the black sesame icecreamThe only minor thing I can fault is that we didn't end up getting everything we ordered on our 2nd round of ordering (not sure if it was because they forgot or because it was getting close to the end of the 2 hr mark)but when we left we were really full - we got heaps of food! The food came out gradually which was good as you can pace yourself. Excellent value for money with and even without the voucher as for just under $30 a head normal price you get a feast. Would definitely recommend and would return next time we are in Melbourne. Would give 4/5 - if we got everything we ordered would have given 5/5 for quality, freshness, service and value for money
Used a coupon deal for the all you can eat menu. Usually expect something like this to be a bland, busy buffet elbowing others out of the way but this was very good table service. It really was all you can eat of excellent food. Started with Edamame and made our way through a lot of very good sushi and sashimi, tempura and teriyaki. Waiters were really busy and some dishes didn't appear but those that did made up for it. Usual cost of this is great value at $35 but even better with the coupon. Glass of wine supplied with meal but no beer available so take your own - there is a bottle shop next door.
I recommend you only visit this restaurant if you are within proximity. It doesn't appear to be owned or managed by Japanese people. The wait staff appeared to be Chinese they seemed rather pushy. The food is reasonably priced and in line with the prices you'd expect in Footscray. Tried three dishes only one of them appeared to have flavour. The sushi was so so.
I really have never been a big fan of designer wrapping paper, or personalized stationery, but this place makes you want to start hand-writing personal
