We love the weekdays special, good deal and foods are Excellent!

The scotch fillet was tough chewy and grissly. I couldn't eat it or digest it. My wife had the Thai beef salad which didn't have any asian greens, the beef was tough and it was also unpalatable because there was way too much chili. It actually burnt my wife's mouth because there was so much chili. The bad and butter pudding was delicious.

It was a jot day of 37 and unfortunately it was quite warm inside and numerous customers were fanning themselves with menus. Even staff commented on how hot it was. Aldo ordered 2 Scotch fillet. I was lucky and got SF but sister definitely got inferior cut of meat that was full of gristle and chewy. All went home feeling like we had wet bums due to heat.

Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Happy to comply with request for no mushrooms in the chicken and mushroom risotto which my friend appreciated. Service was quick and the food good. Plenty of water supplied too. Nice to sit inside next to the window wall and lookout on the greenery. A good experience for a post Christmas catch up lunch.

I visited the Ivanhoe Hotel Bistro restaurant today and was not impressed by the way I was treated. Firstly the service was very slow and I had to make a second request for zero coke to be brought to my table. I ordered vegetable broth and slow cooked beef (with usual trimmings) and both these courses were totally acceptable. However, when I requested my bill and looked at it i saw that it was much much higher than I was expecting. I had been charged for 2 drinks costing £16.80 which I had not ordered. I called a waitress and pointed out this error in my bill and she took it away, making no comment. A short time later a waiter returned my bill which was correct and all he could say was That 's better, isn 't it ? There was no apology for the mistake either from the waiting staff or the management and no offer of a reduction to compensate for my annoyance. I was very annoyed as I left the restaurant; I will not be recommending it to my friends and I will most certainly not be returning.
