We finally got the chance to visit Il Bacaro, in the CBD. Intimate but elegant place with a amazing atmosphere, the impeccable service (if I am not mistaken the guy at our table was called Fabio , all the lovely staff was pleasantly italian, I felt like at home : . The courses were all delicious and well put together; I would have liked more dishes with truffles (given the season and where I come from but the chicken broth with duck ravioli finished with black truffle flakes was very appreciated and a cure-all for the cold weather of that night. I close by thanking the staff of Il Bacaro for making that night even more special! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$160–180
I had a terrible experience at Il Bacaro. After eating here, I ended up getting food poisoning and spent the next day feeling extremely sick. To make matters worse, there was someone in the parking lot yelling racial slurs, which made the whole situation even more uncomfortable and unsettling. I won't be returning and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
A classy find in Melbourne. The Spaghettini, cicale di mare is extraordinary! Definitely a must visit when in Melbourne. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Spaghetti Morton's Bay Bug's
Absolutely disgusting place very overpriced and I had food poisoning for 6 days after consuming a steak here.
What a wonderful experience at Il Bacaro. Warm attentive and caring service, beautifully executed dishes with poise and finesse, interesting wine list and a non rushed dinner. I loved this restaurant. After a few dinners in Melbourne with some much bigger names and no doubt bigger egos this was the best meal we had hands down. Fine dining with great attention to detail. A gem! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$160–180 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Spaghetti Morton's Bay Bug's
