Had the meat platter for two with a friend. Four different types of meat, and all of them were very good. Only issue was that for that price $90 for two), we still were craving more after polishing off all the meat. For that price, there really should have been a bit more. Also had the fries, and they were outstanding. What took the night to another level, though, was they had free beer because some local brewery was debuting or something. Got to try four different types of their beer and that made up for the lack of meat on the platter. Overall I'd recommend the place to others, though I'd also recommend to the owners to not scrimp so much.
To enjoy a quick dinner with my family of three, I recommend making an early reservation at this restaurant. We ordered a delicious burger for $17, which came with crispy and flavorful chips that my daughter truly enjoyed, especially after a disappointing burger experience at another restaurant. The full rack of ribs was also tasty, though it came with very few pickles on the side. While the ribs cost $39, they were not enough to fully satisfy two people, so we ordered a side of coleslaw for $8. Overall, the food was good and the service was excellent and efficient.
This restaurant is definitely a trendy place to eat, with a cool setting and hipster vibe. The bearded bar staff are on hand to mix up unique and delicious drinks. The food is good overall, with tasty ribs that could have been a bit more tender and served in a larger portion. The BBQ sauce, although delicious, was served on the side rather than smothered over the ribs. The beef rib eye was enjoyable, but slightly fatty in places. The fries were a highlight - crispy, well-seasoned, and served in a large metal trough. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and we may consider returning in the future.
Table was booked for 7.30, we arrived about 30 minutes early so we could have a quiet beer in the pub The Beaufort). Wandering through to the intimate Ikes... Ribs.... Mac and cheese, topped with a cheezle crumble if you don't mind. I could go on! Staff friendly, food great. Definitely go back
I discovered this restaurant in Melbourne's 50 best American Restaurants and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The restaurant offers outdoor seating, bar seating, and back bar seating, which I recommend for a quieter dining experience. The front bar is great for drinks and playing pool. The menu focuses on burgers, slow-cooked ribs, chicken, and sausage. During my visit with two friends, we sampled burgers, mini pies, slow-cooked sausage, mac and cheese, and fries - all of which were delicious and filling. The average cost per person was around $30, including a beer, main dish, and a shared appetizer. I look forward to trying the ribs next time, although they do come at a higher price of $25 to $33.
