Hor Kitchen is a tasty, no-frills Malaysian restaurant located on Russell Street in Melbourne, with plenty of seating inside. It’s opposite the QV building and Officeworks, and close to Sul Bing. The service was excellent and the food arrived quickly. Portions are huge. I recommend the Char Kway Teow and fried rice. There’s a sauce station at the back with fresh chili and sambal. They don’t split bills, but you can pay at the counter before your food is served. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I recently dined at Hor Kitchen and tried four dishes. The Kung-Pao Chicken stood out with its rich flavors and perfect balance of spices and textures—it was my favorite. The Stir-Fried Kailan with Garlic featured fresh, crisp greens infused with fragrant garlic. The Hainanese Chicken was a unique experience for me; its delicate flavors and gelatinous skin are something you have to acquire a taste for. The sauces served alongside were crucial in enhancing the dish’s overall flavor. Although not pictured, we also enjoyed exceptional wantons. Overall, Hor Kitchen offers a varied menu of authentic Malaysian cuisine. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to explore more dishes.
