Ghin Khao - Melbourne
Ghin Khao
Description
Ghin Khao in Melbourne's Chinatown offers a mix of authentic Thai flavors with a few minor drawbacks. While some customers were disappointed with the seasoning and timing of their meals, others found the food to be fresh and delicious, especially the Tom Yum soup and curry dishes. The service was a mixed bag, with some praising the friendly staff and others criticizing the lack of timing and communication. Overall, those looking for affordable and tasty Thai food in the CBD will find a satisfying meal at Ghin Khao, with options ranging from traditional noodle dishes to flavorful curries. And for those craving a taste of Thailand, this spot is a must-visit in the bustling Chinatown area of Melbourne.

During my trip to Melbourne, I was craving some good Thai food and luckily this restaurant was conveniently located within walking distance of my hotel. The food was fresh and affordable, and the young girls who served me were friendly. However, I did have to wait about 20 minutes for my take-away order on a Monday night, which I found to be a bit lengthy. I also found the food to be lacking in flavor and not seasoned well. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with the meal, but I must commend them on the freshness of the ingredients.
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service is lacking. My noodles came out before the entrees, and when I asked for them to be returned until my partner's meal was ready, it took 8 minutes for her to be served. The waiter didn't seem to understand my frustration about the timing of meals and thought 8 minutes wasn't a long wait. At the end of the meal, the second entree (son-in-law eggs) came out and they were surprised when I sent it back and refused to pay for it. No matter how tasty the food is, I won't be returning to a restaurant that can't even manage basic cooking skills like timing.
I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have never been let down. I have sampled various dishes and found them all to be delicious. The prices are fair and I appreciate that all of the staff are Thai. I would definitely return, 10/10.
We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop for a late lunch on a Saturday. The positive aspect was that we were seated promptly, and the food was fresh. However, I have had better experiences...
