Early morning looking for coffee in a part of Melbourne i rarely get to visit. I see this cozy cafe and immediately am welcomed as soon as i walk through the door. The staff was very cheerful and accommodating. I ordered a take away breakfast of a filled croissant and large coffee. I have been twice with a long space of time between visits and both times have felt welcomed. I like that it wasn't overly busy and you didn't feel like you were in the bustling Brunswick street side. I could relax and just enjoy people watching for a while before i had to go to my appointment.
Its not hipster so most of the trendy set don't go here but they know how to make coffee and the food is great. You get a warm welcome every time. So stray from Brunswick Street or go here when you get off the tram at Nicholson and have a much better experience.Angelo is always there making the best coffee
This is one of the places I most regularly go as a resident of a nearby street, the breakfasts (in particular Eggs Florentine) are fresh, well cooked, tasty and huge). Cooked lunches and salads are always worth having, coffees and deserts all made locally from fresh ingredients. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded at lunchtime but the service is always fast and attentive. Large tables suitable for meetings or group lunches.
The food is excellent, generous portions and great value for money. Coffee is amazing and the staff are fabulous.
