Wine bottles stacked under the staircase coupled with the flickering flame from the white brick wood fire oven peeping through the back kitchen window serve to excite the senses in anticipation of an authentic Italian menu. The restaurant showcases a comfortable variety of delicious and fresh pasta and large crunchy pizze amidst the classic entree and dessert selections, all of generous servings. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and the attentive and friendly staff are to thank. Who would have thought, stepping through that glass wooden door from a Melbourne street front, Ecco transported me into the quaint corner of a real Tuscan style locale. I'll be back on my next trip in town to experience Ecco's alfresco dining between the green filled terracotta pots in the back courtyard. Grazie!!

Everyone’s food arrived at the same time for all meals (still hot!! , and our glasses were never empty. Food was perfect and the service and staff were amazing. I dare say the pizza could be better than my Nonna’s, or even the best in Melbourne!!

The fo... read more Visiting my favorite Italian restaurant is always a delightful experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff and a fantastic menu. The food tastes just like a homemade meal and the pizzas are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the house wine, as it is excellent. The restaurant also has a beautiful courtyard with a Tuscan ambiance and a private dining room upstairs for special occasions. Conveniently located in the heart of South Yarra with easy parking, this restaurant is definitely one of the best in Melbourne. I highly recommend it.
