Tucked away in the back streets of South Melbourne is the cutest little Wine bar! Eastern Road Bar is gorgeous and they love wine just like me! Set under one of the many new developments sprouting up between Kingsway and Clarendon, we just happened to pass by one super fit Sunday morning on our way back from walking around the lake and it looked so good we went home and got changed and headed back out. It is in the shade of the many other buildings but I imagine on a 40 degree day it will be a blessing, they have set it up as a great indoor outdoor space and there are heaters and blankets if the Spring chill still grabs you.
Great coffee, pastries are a little more spendy than other places but great quality. Checkout the pizza and bar next door too. Nice to see a local gem pop up!
I cannot WAIT to come back here for more food. Stopped in today to grab some take away lunch and had their chicken and slaw salad absolutely amazing! Such a cute little spot which also has great coffee. I’m going back to try the wagyu pastrami sandwich ASAP!!
I wanted to get a pork roll for $8 but was told it wouldn’t be ready for an hour. I saw a chicken fillet in the warmer and asked for a chicken roll instead. They said just the chicken was $5.50, but with coleslaw and cheese in a roll it was $12.50, which felt really basic for the price. A drink was $5.50 as well. Overall, the place felt like a rip-off for what you get—low value. My friend got a coffee and a bacon and egg toasty for $9, which seemed like a fair price, and he said it tasted good. I’m giving 2 stars because it wasn’t terrible, just very poor value. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
